I started writing not in a bid to create art but as a way of coping with mental illness. At the age of 44 I enrolled in a creative writing class, which changed not only my attitude to writing but my attitude to living. Writing has been a huge part of finding away to be. Over the past few years I’ve had the chance to speak to various groups about: Writing, Coping with a disability and Mature Age Learning. I am available to speak anywhere in Victoria and would welcome the chance to share my story. Please contact me via email. I’d love to hear from you about your group.
In 2011 I had a collection of my writings published under the title, Haloes in the Windscreen. The book contains a collection of stories I’ve written over the last 20 years. Haloes is about: growing up in the 60’s in Melbourne, Family, Parenthood, Mental Illness, Adult Learning and the foibles of a Daydreamer.
‘Haloes,’ is available for purchase for $20.00 au plus postage. Please contact me via email, firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll happily post one out.
